After all, getting in front of a potential hiring manager means that you’ve beaten out dozens (if not hundreds) of other qualified candidates for the opportunity to win over this person with your skills, education, and work experience. Stand out in your next job interview with the following three tips- and set yourself up to do well! Here are three tips to stand out in your next  job interview: 1. Do your research.   Potential bosses want to hire the best talent out there for the position they’re hiring for. But it doesn’t end there; they also want to feel that their company- and their company alone- is the  only  company you want to work for. So impress your future boss by knowing a lot more about the company than its name and an overly simplified explanation of what it does. Dig deep into its history to uncover how it’s grown over the years, and find out where it’s headed. Learn about its humanitarian efforts and its dedication to having a cutting-edge workplace culture. Another bonus: do your due diligence on the person(s) who will be interviewing you. You might discover that your prospective boss graduated from the same college as you, or that you both share a love for golf. Those small tidbits of info can go a long way in helping you stand out in your next job interview. 2. Ask questions. If you thought that a job interview was a one-way street (i.e., the hiring manager asking questions and you offering up your answers), think again. Job interviews are a back-and-forth conversation, and many prospective employers encourage candidates to actively ask questions. So before your job interview, think of some questions you would really like to have the answers to, beyond “Am I hired?” You can ask some of these  job interview questions: What metrics are used to gauge job performance? How does this position tie in with the rest of the company? What would be some of the challenges faced by a person in this position? 3. Know their needs.   If you really want to stand out from the other job candidates who are sitting in the waiting room, you can wow a potential employer by knowing his needs ahead of time. Let him know you’re aware that the company has struggled rebranding itself, and then relate how some of your previous job experience in branding can help him if he were to hire you. Or you can mention that you’ve noticed the company doesn’t update its social media channels as often as it should, and that you are a Twitter maven. This shows to a potential employer that you are not only aware of its problems (without him having to tell you so), but that you are coming with solutions to those issues, too. It’s critical for every job candidate to make the most of their job interview to stand out to a potential employer. So make the most of those precious minutes during your job interview to show off your knowledge, interest and desire to work for the company, and hopefully you’ll not only have a  successful job interview, but youll be saying yes to a job offer very soon!
