Nominations Due Soon for Nearly 30 Society Awards Nominations Due Soon for Nearly 30 Society Awards Nominations Due Soon for Nearly 30 Society AwardsJan. 12, 2018 The ASME Honors and Awards Committee will be accepting nominations for 29 ASME awards - including the ASME Medal, Honorary Membership and the Henry R. Worthington Medal - over the next two months.The deadline to submit a nomination for the Societys highest award, the ASME Medal, is March 1. Established in 1920, the medal recognizes eminently distinguished engineering achievement. The winner will receive a $15,000 prize, a gold medal and a certificate. Nominations should be e-mailed to Fran McKivor, ASME Honors and Awards, at mckivorfasme.org.Nominations for Honorary Membership the highest level of ASME membership are also due March 1. First awarded in 1880, the founding year of the Society, Honorary Membership is bestowed up members who have made distinctive contributions to engineering, science, industry, research pub lic service or other pursuits allied with and beneficial to the engineering profession. Each year, as many as five ASME members can be named Honorary Members, each receiving a silver medal and a certificate. Nominations should be e-mailed to Fran McKivor at mckivorfasme.org.The Henry R. Worthington Medal, which is one of more than 20 ASME awards with a nomination deadline of Feb. 1, is presented for eminent achievement in the field of pumping machinery, systems and concepts, in areas including research, development, design, innovation, management, education or literature.
